QUEENSLAND WEATHER SUMMARY:

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS: Nil.

RAINFALL SUMMARY: No falls were reported in the 24 hours to 9am Monday, nor in the period
from 9am to 3pm Monday.

TEMPERATURE SUMMARY: Overnight minimum temperatures across the state were well below
average because of the clear dry conditions. The largest departure was 10 degrees below normal
at Bowen, whose minimum of 5 degrees was unusually cold for August. The state's lowest minimum
was minus 2 degrees at Injune, Mitchell, Roma, Oakey, Stanthorpe and Texas.

Monday's maximum temperatures showed a similar trend to the overnight minimums, with many
between 2 to 4 degrees below normal, and for the same reasons.

NOTES ON THE WEATHER CHART: A 1030 hpa high, moving east near Adelaide, dominated the
surface chart and the weather across most Australia Monday. The high extended a ridge into
Queensland and brought cool dry south to south-east winds and fine clear weather to the state.
These conditions also caused widespread morning frosts in the Central Highlands, Maranoa,
Warrego, Darling Downs and Burnett Districts.

SOUTH-EAST COAST DISTRICT: Mostly fine, only isolated showers near the coast. Mostly light
to moderate S to SE winds.

BRISBANE: Fine. Mostly light to moderate S to SE winds. Max: 21. UV Index - 06 (high).

IPSWICH AREA: Fine. Mostly light to moderate S to SE winds. Amberley max: 22. UV Index - 06
(high).

GOLD COAST: Mostly fine, just the chance of a shower. Mostly moderate S to SE winds.
Coolangatta max: 20. UV Index - 05 (high).

SUNSHINE COAST: Mostly fine, just the chance of a shower. Mostly moderate S to SE winds.
Tewantin max: 21. UV Index - 06 (high).

MORETON BAY: S to SE winds about 15 knots. Winds lighter at times in the western and
southern bay particularly night and early morning. Highest seas to 1 metre. Isolated showers.

PENINSULA DISTRICT: Mostly fine, only isolated showers developing on the east coast.
Moderate to fresh SE winds.

GULF COUNTRY DISTRICT: Dry and clear. Moderate to fresh SE winds.

NORTHERN GOLDFIELDS AND UPPER FLINDERS DISTRICT: Dry and clear. Light to moderate SE winds.

NORTH TROPICAL COAST AND TABLELANDS DISTRICT: Mostly fine, only isolated showers developing
on the coast. Moderate to fresh SE winds.

CAIRNS: Fine. Moderate to fresh SE winds. Max: 25. UV Index - 08 (very high).

HERBERT AND LOWER BURDEKIN DISTRICT: Mostly fine. Isolated coastal showers developing.
Moderate to fresh SE winds tending E to NE about the coast during the afternoon. Moderate fire
danger.

TOWNSVILLE: Fine. Moderate SE winds tending fresh E to NE'ly during the afternoon. Moderate
fire danger. Max: 24. UV Index - 07 (very high).

NORTH-WEST DISTRICT: Dry. Moderate SE to E winds.
